Two Meeting Presentations: Treasurer, Pat Keating about his trip to New Orleans and
Paul Bazely, Pilot, DC -3 and C-53. Additionally, Paul Bitner will display his 1958 Ford.
1: Treasurer, Pat Keating will tell us about his recent trip to New Orleans for the National 8th Air Force Historical Society reunion, and his visit to the National WWII Museum.
2: Pilot, Paul Bazely will talk about ferrying aircraft to England via the “Northern Route” through Labrador, Greenland and Iceland.
Paul flew a DC-3 and C-53 (militarized version of the DC-3) over that route for a D-Day Commemoration, and will talk about the planning and preparations required to fly a WWII-era radial engine aircraft through the weather, winds, and cold temperatures along the northern route.
In addition, Paul Bintner will display his 1958 Ford which was used in “The Las Man Club,” a movie about a WWII veteran flier who embarks on a cross country adventure to find the last remaining members of his B-17 bomber crew.
